Le Capitole

A tiny family run restaurant in Beaulieu-sur-Mer next to the Sacre-Cœur Church on the main Basse Corniche - Route 98.
The fact that the choice of dishes was limited, the plat du jour was hand written on a black board, that the table cloths were covered with clean sheets of paper and that the locals seemed to be using The Capitole on a regular basis, it gave us an immediate good feel.
The food was fresh, freshly cooked, well prepared and presented, without any pretence but definitely tasty. The portions were adequate, the service with a friendly smile: in short we enjoyed our lunch enough to remember.
Two plats du jour with fish, mixed vegetables, an enjoyable house wine and two espresso coffees for 40 Euro.
