We have gathered comments and suggestions from our guests to offer you a fuller and more objective opinion about our apartment, its location and the service provided.September 2009
On arrival we immediately felt relaxed and at home in the bright, clean and comfortable apartment. Within easy walking distance of the Port, the Old Town, La Promenade des Anglais, Cours Saleya, Massena, there is endless variety. We particularly liked the Port area which has great character with its little shops selling fruit and vegetables, Le Lac, the fantastic cake shop, not to be missed and Les Alpes Maritime where the bread is baked daily in an open oven with wood. The apartment kitchen is fitted with everything you need, so you can experiment a little with wonderful local produce and fish. There is endless variety for dining out. Just a few doors up from the apartment is a simple restaurant with excellent cooking called Le Vieux Four. Fish restaurants are abundant with plenty of mussels and oysters, in particular a well known one in Place Garibaldi and the Old Town and Cours Saleya is teaming with restaurants. The Port is very near to bus stops that go to Ville France, one of our favourite places and to Cap-d'Ail or indeed to Monaco. We can't wait to return to Nice Nest. We took a chance with this internet find when our previous accommodation became unavailable. We were pleasantly surprised by Alberto's friendliness and professionalism when it came to the booking. The apartment is in a well maintained building, in a lovely district. It is close to everything you need, the old town, the beach and many nice cafes and restaurants. We were within 50 yards of Place Garibaldi which is a cool square to wander about. While we ate out quite a bit, the apartment is also close to shops, boulangerie and Monoprix (French supermarket chain). Our routine consisted of an indulgence of baguettes and pastries in the morning from the 30 second away boulangerie followed by walkabouts of Nice. Bus journeys to most of the neighbouring towns like Eze, Menton, Monaco etc are a Euro each. Personally, Nice has been our favourite spot for some time (and we are both well travelled) and we will be returning to Nice Nest within the year. We would highly recommend Nice Nest to anybody. It's clean, comfortable and modern. I found myself on the balcony the odd afternoon reading a book in the March sunshine (Paul Theroux's 'Dark Star Safari', highly recommended) enjoying a glass of rosé and forgetting about the global recession! We felt like we were leaving our home at the end of the trip. It's a lower cost, more flexible option to a package holiday and it left us with a lot of happy memories. We had decided to book with you because I had much appreciated the kind of rapport that was established, of great courtesy and accessibility. We felt a confidence that allowed us to book through the net. The seriousness of the reservation document and the regular messages exchanged enabled us to create a relationship based on trust and to also have a good holiday. Already on arrival and during our stay, Mrs Gravini was very welcoming, always willing to help us; we could reach her at any time of day. She is a true angel of the home; not a single grain of dust, even at the very back of a cupboard. With her help we also found the cheapest stores in the area. Our stay took place during the last week of December; we wanted to take advantage of the mild climate and we succeeded! On 1 January, we went to the castle and we fell asleep on a bench, our faces warmed up by the sun. Nice Nest apartment is located in the heart of town, is accessible on foot, so is the port, the beach, Garibaldi square, the Old Town (forget to take your car, it's hell). When you walk around Nice, your eyes open wide and your heart fills up with beauty: the sun shining on the Bay of Angels is unforgettable... I dream already of Nice dressed up for spring. We would book again with you with much pleasure. Celine and family, Lille - France September 2008
The apartment was a nice size, very clean and up to date; the balcony was tremendous. There are plenty of great restaurants and shops close by. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation at "Nice Nest". Alberto and his wife were very helpful and pleasant upon our arrival. We would love to stay here again when we come back to visit Nice. Rus & Mary, Detroit - USA

The apartment was lovely, modern throughout, clean, had all the appliances we needed and Alberto went out of his way to make our arrival as smooth as possible. Its location, just set back from Nice's Old Town, the Port and Le Château, is perfect for seeing Nice, eating out and exploring the Côte d'Azur and Provence due to the closeness of the Gare Routière (Bus Station). A week was certainly not enough to explore the whole of the area, but apart from the obvious attractions of Monaco and Cannes, some "must dos" are the train from the Gare de Provence up Var Valley, the smaller towns between Nice and Monaco where life has a slower pace, a bus trip up to Vence and St Paul and a meal at Sapore – right on the apartment’s doorstep. Our thanks to Alberto. Matt and Arlette, West Sussex - UK October 2006
I chose Nice Nest as it seemed the best cost/value option. On one hand, it is a safe residential quarter with supermarkets, bakeries and cafes; on the other hand, the Old Town is only a stone's throw away. You can go sightseeing on your own with the Central bus station nearby, or you can go to the beach, not far either. Whatever the weather, you can always make a programme for yourself. I was particularly encouraged by Alberto's prompt and comprehensive responses to my numerous questions. It proved to be absolutely vital. Russian travellers have to present a whole pile of original documents signed by their landlord to apply for an entry visa to the French consulate, and Alberto had them sent to me in no time. On arrival we were met by Mme Gravini, the friendly and efficient caretaker. She speaks French, but you will find it no difficulty to understand how everything works. We found a lot of useful appliances, brushes, dusters, washing liquids, towels, etc. One feels at home, with everything thoughtfully arranged. Also, there were local maps and bus timetables, which made planning our sightseeing much easier. It was a very pleasant stay indeed, and I am looking forward to coming back to Palais du Pin! Alla, Moscow - Russia January 2006
A 1.5 bedroom apartment in the beautiful Eastern district of Nice comprising a pretty bathroom with shower, a balcony and a bedroom with a view over Place du Pin. The apartment is situated in Palais du Pin, a building fitted with a lift. Nearby you can find interesting attractions worth visiting like Nice Harbour, the cultural Old Town with its numerous restaurants, bars and galleries and the Acropolis. You can also reach the beach or the city centre comfortably on foot. From East Nice there are good connections like the bus from the Harbour to Cap Ferrat and Monaco or Riquier train station to Monaco or Italy as well as Antibes and Cannes. I suggest taking Bus 100 from Nice Port to Monte-Carlo (on this trip you will discover the unspoilt beauty of the French Riviera) or bus 81 from the Harbour to St. Jean Cap-Ferrat on the dream peninsula! I wish you a pleasant stay on the French Riviera. Michael, Hamburg - Germany December 2005
The flat was spotlessly clean throughout. The space was well allocated with a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen diner, a fairly spacious living area and a balcony which we thoroughly enjoyed. Living in the apartment and its great location really made us feel part of this wonderfully traditional area. Alberto's service was prompt and very efficient. His friendly attitude and knowledge of the area was of great help in our fact finding research prior to arriving in Nice. We recommend the 'Nice Nest' to any visitor and we plan to visit again in the the future. Many thanks! Stuart & Louise, Norwich - UK |

We had a wonderful time in Nice Nest.

Mary and I had a wonderful holiday in Nice.
We spent the Easter week at Nice Nest and had an absolutely brilliant time.
I was in Nice in October 2006 with my mother on her 70th birthday; she preferred a trip to Côte d'Azur to a noisy restaurant party. Besides, she specializes in Russian literature and France has long been a home for Russian intelligentsia.

My girlfriend and I recently spent an unforgettable week in Nice having chosen 'Nice Nest' as our place to stay. On arrival at the airport we jumped onto the bus and after a short ride arrived in central Nice. The bus station is very close to the apartment: just a 5 minutes' walk.
